Brake Fluid

Hi

I have read through the old posts and the general conclusion is that Castrol LMA fluid should be used to ensure the old rubber seals are not attacked.

My question is can you still buy Castrol LMA? I have had a quick look on the internet and not found any suppliers.

Does anyone know of a supplier in the UK? Or is there a current fluid that is just as good?

Thanks

I had problems last year with poor quality brake fluids and seal wear.
Castrol Response DOT 4 seems to be the answer as it has some self lubricating properties and no longer erodes seals.
several after market clutch/brake people who have no axe to grind [ ie not agents for any particular product ] are suggesting this fluid and it is the one I now use. there probably are other makes that are as good as the Castrol Response, but I now know of two makes that are no good!!

Love to know the two bad makes - I had the same problem some years ago - as I mentioned on another recent thread.
There appears also to be a Castrol Response SUPER DOT 4:

Cheers guys

Now should I buy Castrol Response DOT 4 or Castrol Response SUPER DOT 4?

Is the SUPER still safe with the seals?

Just been and checked in the garage and the one I am using, and is suggested by one company whose paperwork is on a desk is specifically Resonse DOT 4. I suspect the Super is so similar that no danger of seal damage - maybe a higher boiling point? Try Castrols web site perhaps.
