Badging on +2S 130 / 5

Hi

My +2S 130 / 5 has the ‘5’ badge on the rear nearside wing but not on the offside one, is this correct ??

I have looked though dozens of photo’s but cannot see one that shows me this information !

IF it should have one both sides then does anyone out there have one that is serviceable and they are willing to sell me ??

Thanks

Peter M

I’m no authority but I do know that +2’s did not always have matching left right identification badges, from the early days on one side or the other may have an extra badge.

It sounds similar to Elan Sprints they also had different badges opposite sides.

I’m sure that mine (+2s130/5) was not symmetrical - seems like so long since I took the badges off for the respray… I do remember wondering the same myself though, and couldn’t find any holes / glue marks to match on both sides.

My car is an S130. It has just the one badge on the n/s rear wing - “S130”, and nothing on the o/s rear wing at all which I believe is how it should be.

Well the general consencious seems to be that it may well only have one ‘5’ badge then !! :open_mouth:

Great no needs to look for another one now !!

Thanks everyone

I have the totally non-definitive answer. One of my cars has one badge on the nearside, the other has a badge on both sides. The car with two badges has never been restored, but that doesn’t mean that it hasn’t had an extra badge added  It is also one of the last cars, so maybe they had lots of 130/5 badges left :unamused:
