Your avatar is simply the little icon that is linked to your name, in your case it is the blue circle with an R , now with a little Lotus badge as you are a contributor, by the side of your name in a post. It also appears top right of the page, and if you click on it you can see your various settings

Strange, neither do I… 
Same for me. I went into profile/preferences, Flair already said “supporting member”. so I clicked on “save changes” (without making any changes), and I now have the badge icon.

The supporting and contributing memberships are valid for the calendar year. I will clear out all members in late December and reassign people to the groups. If you donated in the last couple of days, I haven’t set those up yet.

No, Patreon is not an option. They charge 15% of total contribution for their service. It is a very expensive option.

Thanks for the explanation, I had wondered what that funny little blue thing in the corner was. I am probably a bit dyslexic, I read slowly, I can’t scan a page to find something, move something to a different place and I am lost.
