There is a known bug within Apple’s IOS 26. When using an iPhone or iPad using IOS26,parts of the screen will go blank when trying to compose a post. Apple is rolling out a fix. apple has not issued a release date.

We have a new feature added to the forums. When you use the search tool, you will now see thumbnails of any images in the post. This will allow you to quickly search for and view posts that include images in their responses.
If you only want to see images, in the advanced filters, select “has images” in the “only return topics/posts” filter option.

I’ve been working on improving the ability to respond to forum posts via email. Previously, we were using a setup that was, let’s just say, held together with points, condensers, and a bit of old Lucas wiring. It worked… but not very well.
We’ve now upgraded to a much more modern and reliable approach.
When you receive an email notification for a private message or a forum post, you’ll now see the following at the bottom of the email:
If you see the line “or reply to this email”, you can simply reply directly from your email. Your response will be posted to the forum just like a normal reply.
As an added benefit, responses are now near real-time. The old system had a 5–10 minute delay, which has now been eliminated.
Give it a try and let me know how it works for you.
Note: This change means that all old emails with the reply option will not work. They are directed to the old system that has been shut down.

Server was upgraded.
We are in the early stages of testing a real-time translation tool. Initially, I am looking to add the translation tool for French, German, and Japanese. We have quite a few visits from these countries/languages. The goal is to provide a place for all Elan owners to come together, even if they don’t speak English.
Here is an example of a conversation I was having with someone in Simplified Chinese:

Does the native speaker of “x” see all posts in that language?
Do you have language wizards standing by to deal with the inevitable translation glitches? 
I for one think is a brilliant idea and a great addition to the site. I dareway we’re an intelligent enough bunch to be able work through/around any issues that might come up as the technology matures.
Small aside: Apple Airpods are attempting realtime translation so it appears as though Ford Prefect’s Babel Fish are on the horizon. I’d love to see that tech in my hearing aids…
