Has anyone seen an Elan +2 with hand crank windows? With a full compliment of rocker switches?
I have knowledge of one. Late 1969 production.

I have never seen one with cranks and will innocently doubt that the factory built any.
I’ve often thought about “minimalizing” my stock original +2 by removing unecessary weight, including the working electric motors. I prefer the push pull design as on my '64 S1.
The heaviest part of the door assembly of the later cars is the window frames and windows. I was surprised to find my door was literally a feather weight, while the frame and glass was heavy. Getting rid of that mass would be a big benefit for any weight reduction campaign.
But the early window frame, window, and lifting mechanism is pretty much unobtainable.
You could get a sheet of Lexan, cut it to size and mount it in the door to save most of the weight. Probably lose the window opening capability unless you were really clever.
To be a little puckish, the easiest way to lose weight in a +2 is trade it in on a +0.

Has anyone in the group found a lighter weight motor assembly that can bolt up or attach to the existing regulator/frame?
