Does anyone have any experience of the carpet set supplied by Christopher Neil? It seems to be good value if the quality is ok.
Thanks
the carpets in mine were from CN…put in by the previous owner…I have had to refit them due to his use of a mixture of chewing gum and blue tak…but as for the quality theyre OK…thats presuming that theyve not gone to cheaper material now as mine have been in the car for 6 or 7 years…
cheers
Gareth
How do you stop the carpets wrapping up? Should they be glued to the floor?
I have mine glued to the floor, except for the ones your feet rest on (the mats?) to enable removal for cleaning. Otherwise everything is glued down. If your mats are bunching up under the pedals. The solution I used was to install brass grommets such as the type used for tarpaulins into the rear corners, closest to the seat rails. I then fashioned hooks from coat hanger. One end was secured by the seat rails the other and upward pointing hook onto which the grommet slipped over. This worked perfectly on my Esprit. I have not have the problem on my Elan yet.
Warning to Americans!
I bought carpets from one of the UK specialists, and they were subject to duty. The taxes were $90. These are not deductible on your income tax, or anything. The carpets were great, but after the duty, the U.S. suppliers might be better value. I suppose the carpet makers need a break.
